A territory choosing to work as a unified system through culture, building a participatory, shared candidacy with a strong European perspective: this is the core of the journey launched by Viterbo and the Tuscia area towards 2033.
Capitale Cultura Group, together with partners Accent on Design and WePlan, is supporting the Municipality of Viterbo in the development of the candidacy, working on strategic communication, the construction of the project vision, and the definition of the identity of the journey towards 2033.
In recent days, at Palazzo Gentili in Viterbo, we officially presented the bid project for European Capital of Culture 2033, together with the new visual identity that will accompany the initiative over the coming years.
The meeting, chaired by the leadership of the Municipality of Viterbo, involved representatives from the 51 participating municipalities, the Province, the Lazio Region, and numerous members of institutional, cultural, and civic organizations. It was an important moment of discussion that confirmed the shared commitment to recognizing culture as a strategic driver for development, innovation, and territorial cohesion.
The Bid Logo
During the meeting, hosted by our CEO Antonio Scuderi, the official logo of the candidacy was unveiled: three beams of colored light forming a “V”, reinterpreting in a contemporary way some of the key identity elements of Viterbo and the Tuscia area, while projecting them into the future.
The visual identity stems from a process of analysis, listening, and dialogue developed together with local stakeholders and the Promoting Committee. The concept takes shape from three symbols of the city’s heritage — the San Pellegrino District, the Palace of the Popes, and the Macchina di Santa Rosa — transformed into a unified sign capable of expressing connection, shared heritage, and a European vision.
The claim “living history, present future” summarizes the approach guiding the entire project: enhancing cultural heritage as a contemporary driver of growth and territorial transformation.

A Participatory Path Towards 2033
The candidacy of Viterbo and Tuscia is rooted in a participatory and shared process involving institutions, cultural organizations, associations, and local communities, with the aim of building a common and lasting vision for the territory.
In the coming months, work will continue through dialogue initiatives, territorial engagement activities, and the strategic development of the candidacy dossier on the road to 2033.
