The third edition of RO.ME – Museum Exhibition, an international fair on museums, places and cultural destinations, conceived and organized by Fiera Roma and Isi Urb, which this year celebrated its third edition with an entirely digital and extremely innovative version, held entirely on the technological platform provided by Wikipoint. Also this year, Capitale Cultura Group was the Business Development Partner of the event and ArtGlass renewed its participation as one of the most active players in business matching with other operators and cultural institutions.
Over 5,000 professional visitors, 75 exhibitors in addition to the 12 international buyers who participated in the digital fair; to these are added the speakers and guests of the 33 panels that have met with great public success. “We were pleasantly impressed both by the traffic on the digital platform and by the number of professional visitors who attended our webinars” comments Andrea Billi, coordinator of the event, and adds: “our initial intuition was confirmed to be right: there is a strong demand for content and specialist insights also for the professional community. The digital version of RO.ME – Museum Exhibition also allowed those who were far away to benefit from these stimuli, which allowed us to be all close in the spirit of relaunching the sector “.
Alongside a professional marketplace where it was possible to hold over 500 B2B meetings, the focus of the event was also the intense cultural program of international importance proposed in the webinars and conferences. As Minister Dario Franceschini underlined at the opening of the event: “it is essential that there is a place like RO.ME – Museum Exhibition where companies offering innovative products meet”.
Many topics covered, with extensive references to the current situation, to the possible and desirable innovations in the field of culture, to new models of use and management of cultural heritage. Together with the event also the second edition of TEMM – TRAVELING EXHIBITION MEETING & MARKETPLACE – the international bag of traveling exhibitions which, this year, focused on the contribution of traveling exhibitions to help museums, exhibition spaces and producers to overcome the crisis caused by COVID -19.
Furthermore, during the event, the project created by RO.ME-Museum Exhibition in collaboration with the General Directorate of Museums of the Ministry for Cultural Heritage and Activities and for Tourism was presented to the public and professionals, which strongly wanted a project pilot of a Virtual Experience on the Museums of the Territory, with the aim of enhancing the widespread so-called “minor” Italian museum heritage in an innovative key. The Virtual Experience – also on the Wikipoint platform – will allow you to visit museums interactively with narrative pills through a 360-degree ecosystem, guaranteeing visitors a captivating experience. An edition full of novelties, with a great digital impact and full of food for thought and analysis that will certainly be retraced at the next edition of RO.ME – Museum Exhibition scheduled between 17 and 19 November 2021.
