The important recognition for the Romagnano di Grezzana sign in the province of Verona arrived on 25 November: a virtual ceremony, an important and tangible confirmation. A success that the La Cru team shares with Capitale Cultura which, from the beginning, takes care of the communication and press office of this project, of which it marries the values ​​and passion. The presentation of the Michelin Guide 2021 in live streaming brought the most coveted and important recognition to the La Cru Restaurant in Romagnano di Grezzana (Verona): the Star. Just one year after the opening, in the temporary location of the Casa del Custode of Villa Balis Crema, the young team (average age 30 years) led by chef Giacomo Sacchetto has delivered to the province of Verona a new sign that can boast the “macaron” red (symbol of a cuisine of absolute quality), which adds to the awards already conferred this year by other top-level gastronomic guides and by critics.

 “We are extraordinarily proud of this award, which comes at the end of a difficult year for the catering sector, but in which we never wanted to give up and we have collected great satisfactions beyond all our expectations – comments chef Sacchetti, while celebrating with the his team – For us this is a starting point to do better and better. We feel on our shoulders the responsibility towards the customers who believed in us and motivated us every day with their approval and lots of advice, the local suppliers, with whom we have created a very high quality supply chain and who share our project . And above all towards a territory that deserves to be told and valued in all its excellence and with a sector today in great crisis, which we must contribute to relaunch all together. We celebrate a team victory, for which I would like to thank the whole brigade and the Zecchini family, who showed a truly rare entrepreneurial courage, even in moments when the health emergency could have induced them to take a step back. ” And again, to close the balance: “We have received the best confirmation of the validity of the keywords of our gastronomic project: territory, research, concreteness and sustainability “.

The awarding of the Michelin Star is the starting point for the new phase of life and development of the La Cru project. Before Christmas, in fact, the kitchen and dining brigade will leave the intimate and sober rooms of the Casa del Custode, to move into the definitive structure of the restaurant. A new building in steel and glass, built from scratch in the courtyard of the magnificent Villa Balis Crema, the oldest of the Venetian residences in Valpantena Veronese, at the center of a recovery and enhancement project wanted and financed by the latest generation of the Zecchini family, entrepreneurs strongly linked to this territory and producers of oil and wine. In the new location, the number of seats will double, to reach 28, with a magnificent open kitchen and an outdoor area directly overlooking the large biodynamic garden which is one of the pearls of the redevelopment of this precious historical context. The kitchen brigade will be enriched with two new professionals, to support chef Sacchetti and his two sous-chefs and partners, Nicola Bertuzzi and Alberto Andretta. A new resource will also arrive in the dining room, to support the maître and sommelier Giampiero Compare and Clelia Venezia.
